Wanted to borrow - 351W dissy shaft in Canberra

Post by Edz66Vert »

Does anyone in Canberra have a loose 351 Windsor dissy shaft I can borrow to check oil pressure?

Use a long 1/4 drive extension and correct size socket, remember the pump goes backwards.

5/16"(8mm) 1/4"drive socket works perfectly. Thanks ShaunP and Nuts.

Rotated the pump backwards, fairly tight when doing it by hand, that doesn't seem right? When I use my AEG 180 nm / 130 ftlbs impact it was working hard to turn it? It did pump oil up to the crank cam in the 10 seconds I did it but nothing came up the pushrods.

It will be fine as long as crank has oil.

Spun it with an electric drill, shows 20psi on the gauge now? Checked the drive on the distributor with an 8mm allen key, hex hole is good and solid, dissy gear is tight and pin is not broken so not sure why I got 0 psi when I started it Thursday morning and revved it to 2000 rpm?

It is and brand new. I'll plug the old ford one in and test it.
Cheers
