Looking at upgrading the existing Procomp 2 wire distributor to a new Edelbrock, FAST or MSD 3 wire unit..
What is the 3rd wire for and what mods do I have to do to install the unit

If you're upgrading, don't put anything procomp in your motor.

On the MSD distributor two wires go to the coil and the black is a ground wire, some have a forth wire which goes to the tach. Also a good idea to go with their coil whichever system you choose.
