Been a long time boys but I have a new toy. It is not a mustang but a F100 1971 Bumpside. It is the other car/truck I have always wanted so I thought the time was right to have a play.

Brought it down from Cairns and it definitely was a backyard build so on close inspection it will need to come apart and effectively be rebuilt. Should be fun.

Once thing I want to do is change the tray to a tub. Which I have found over the last few months is like looking for unicorn shit. It will not be a farm truck, it is not a 4x4, it will be a street truck so the tub is what I want to do.

I have been looking for months for a tub unsuccessfully but have recently found this. The price is reasonable but it obviously needs some work and getting panels for these are not easy or impossible.

What do you guys think? The floor he got made to original specs, the tailgate is from the US and one of the cleanest I have seen but obviously the tub needs some rust repairs etc.

Rust repairs are easy... shaping that side properly where they have cut the hole - that's outside my expertise

Yeah easy but expensive is my concern. Been there with the mustang, so just trying to determine the level of effort and funds to get this done.
There are no real aftermarket rust repair sections so things like the bottom of the rear sections behind the wheel arches will need to be cut and worked to the correct shape. See below further pictures.

Looks good, what other plans have you got for it?

Not sure yet Dwayne. Below is sort of where I am at. More mechanically great, body not overly fussed as it is a truck and don’t want to stress over it like the mustang, nice comfortable interior.

Definitely IFS, Superformance do an IFS that is Australian engineered. Not sure on the rear yet
These things take Coyotes or Boss motors really well, or build a 351 Cleveland stroker.
As above I want to put a tub on it
Nice leather interior but nothing overly fancy
Paint later but at this stage an off white

Hi cage, you need to call me.

Of course, you buy the model with the most complicated bed

The bed is not too technical, but needs to come apart & get dipped AFTER the rust repairs are completed to all the sections. Then most of it gets glued back together, not fully welded.

Here he is. I was hoping you were going to chime in. It has been a a while Kerry. Hope you are doing OK mate.

That all sounds way too much money for this thing and glued back together 😳 I will give you a call for a chat mate.

Overdue for a visit also, I reckon Hybrid, Soc, GBX would be keen also if you are around the farm.
