Re: Ralphs Project GTA
Very nice - good to see progress.
I will someday think of something clever to say.
Re: Ralphs Project GTA
Thanks BooF , goal is to get the motor fired sooner than later , Shaun wants to come and sort some wiring , Gav will probably come as well , getting sick of pushing it everywhere ,
Re: Ralphs Project GTA
Looks very clean. I reckon those manifold are going to hold you back a fair bit though. Maybe later when funds permit you can put some headers on. I only have a little 302, and my hipo manifolds are really holding that back

Re: Ralphs Project GTA
Yep your absolutely right , but at least it will get it started , have still got a set of FPA headers that can be modified down the track when finances allow ,
Re: Ralphs Project GTA
Have to be full custom though as the car Is RHD with and XF steering box, tight fit. Custom pipes are about $2kHusky65 wrote:Looks very clean. Re: Ralphs Project GTA
Nice work mate. Just out of interest, how much does the casting bloke charge for something like that.
Re: Ralphs Project GTA
About time we have an updated. Looks nice, like the x-pipe, I think I need to do that.

Re: Ralphs Project GTA
Price for the Manifold was $ 420 that's just the one ,
He has been playing with Thunderbirds for 30 years odd ,
and has many more combinations as well , l was lucky l think
he is not getting any younger and is just about to give it all away

Re: Ralphs Project GTA
That does look good, you have the underside squared away!
I put reproduction CJ exhaust manifolds on my 390 (aluminum edlebrock heads). I didn't want to fight fitting headers, the CJ manifolds are about twice the size of the stock 390 manifolds and I had zero fitting issues.
Custom made to fit headers would be optimal, but the price really goes up for a few more HP.

Hey Ralph might be an idea to wrap that header to keep the heat out of the box mate. Or fit an oil cooler of PS maybe both.
